10:00am-11:00am: Reforms to the UK Data Protection and e-Privacy Laws

The Data Protection and Digital Information Bill is set to impact the data protection compliance regime in the UK. This presentation will analyse the likely impact.

11:10am-12:10pm: Recent Regulatory Decisions and Fines

This session will cover a summary of regulatory decisions leading to fines and a similar summary of those civil claims where damages have been awarded which have been published (not all are).

It seems that many aggrieved data subjects are anticipating far higher damages awards than the courts are, in reality, prepared to grant, notwithstanding that some regulatory penalties are eye-watering.

In this age of dependence on IT systems, effective IT security is a business imperative.
